Church Road, North Woodchester, Glos GL5 5PD  (SO 840027)

The majority of the memorials commemorate the wealthy wool masters and clothiers who owned the local mills. These should be studied not only for their craftsmanship, but also for the social history they contain. Notable among the families are the Pauls of Southfield Mill, one of whom, George Onesiphorus, pioneered prison reform in Gloucestershire.

The organ

The organ was not installed in 1863, although provision was made for housing it in its present position. It was built in 1866 by Gray and Davison. It is a simple tracker action instrument, suitable for a village church. Subsequently, it has been rebuilt twice, in 1927 and 1974. The latter included some modifications to the specification, and replacement of the pedal board which now has an electric action.
